In the United States, there are approximately 340,000 certified personal trainers who work professionally. Sports coaches are highly qualified, multi-skilled healthcare professionals who provide services or treatments and reduce risk in a variety of settings.
Some people confuse TAs with personal trainers or physical therapists, but there are a lot of differences. Did you know that ATs work in the military, arts, and business? Sports coaches work under the supervision of licensed physicians to provide services to people who have suffered sports injuries. At sporting events, sports coaches provide emergency care and first aid to people who have suffered a sports injury, evaluate sports injuries, and make referrals to appropriate medical professionals. Through one-on-one consultations and conferences, certified sports coaches also instruct coaches, athletes, parents, medical staff and communities in the care and prevention of sports injuries.
